Inverse uncertainty characteristics of pollution source identification for river chemical spill incidents

Jiping Jiang, Feng Han, Yi Zheng, Nannan Wang, Yixing Yuan

Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering 2018, Volume 12, Issue 5, doi: 10.1007/s11783-018-1081-4

Abstract:

Uncertainty rules of pollution source inversion are revealed by stochastic analysis

A release load is most easily inversed and source locations own largest uncertainty

Instantaneous spill assumption has much less uncertainty than continuous spill

The estimated release locations and times negatively deviate from real values

The new findings improve monitoring network design and emergency response to spills

Study on Creating an Integrated Management Strategy for the Yellow River Delta and Its Ambient Sea Area

Wang Wanzhan,Lei Kun,Jiang Enhui,Li Zicheng,Han Xuejiao and Li Yan

Strategic Study of CAE 2016, Volume 18, Issue 2,   Pages 91-97 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2016.02.011

Abstract:

Since the Yellow River Delta is a part of the river-land-sea system, the paper proposes a new strategyThe strategy advocate: (a) ensuring relatively even distribution of the Yellow River's water, sedimentnarrow and deep to economize water volume for sediment transportation to the sea; (c) making good use of river
